Hospitality Hire is recruiting on behalf of a well-established 4-star hotel in Cape Town for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join a fast-paced Food & Beverage team.

Minimum Requirements- Relevant culinary qualification or professional cookery training- 1 to 2 years' experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar kitchen role- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen environment- Basic understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP principles- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow- Well-presented with excellent teamwork skills- South African ID
Key Responsibilities- Prepare ingredients and assist with the production of high-quality dishes- Support Chef de Parties and senior chefs in daily kitchen operations- Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation- Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and hotel standards- Keep workstations clean, organised, and hygienic at all times- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures- Assist with stock rotation and minimise food waste- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards- Support the kitchen team with any additional duties required
