About the Opportunity

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join a prestigious luxury safari lodge in the Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented culinary professional with strong leadership experience to manage a high-end lodge kitchen while delivering outstanding dining experiences in a world-class safari environment.

Key Requirements

• Formal 3-year Chef qualification or a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar senior culinary role.
• Previous experience within a luxury 5-star safari lodge, hotel or similar high-end hospitality environment.
• Strong culinary knowledge with the ability to design and implement creative menus.
• Excellent understanding of food costing, kitchen budgets, portion control, stock rotation and waste management.
• Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and the ability to cater for individual guest needs.
• Proven ability to lead, train, mentor and develop a professional kitchen team.
• Excellent understanding of kitchen operations, procedures and service timing.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety standards and kitchen equipment.
• Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
• Understanding of labour legislation and disciplinary procedures.
• Excellent guest interaction and communication skills.
• Passion for sustainability, conservation and responsible kitchen operations.
• Professional appearance with high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
• South African citizenship or a valid working visa is required.
