Housekeeping Manager

Premier Resort The Moorings in beautiful Knysna is looking for a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the resort.

The ideal candidate will be an organised and hands-on leader with excellent attention to detail and a passion for maintaining exceptional hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the Housekeeping department.

Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained to a consistently high standard.

Lead, motivate, train, and supervise the housekeeping team.

Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met.

Manage housekeeping schedules, staff allocation, and daily work requirements.

Monitor and control housekeeping supplies, amenities, equipment, and linen stock.

Ensure proper procedures are followed for the handling and reporting of lost property.

Work closely with Front Office and other departments to ensure rooms are ready and guest requirements are attended to efficiently.

Respond to guest requests and complaints professionally and promptly.

Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety standards and hotel procedures.

Assist with maintaining cost control and efficient use of housekeeping resources.

Requirements:✅ Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager or similar role within a hotel or resort environment.✅ Strong leadership and people-management skills.✅ Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.✅ Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.✅ Knowledge of housekeeping, hygiene, health, and safety standards.✅ A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.✅ Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
