Group Executive Chef - Restaurant Group Jhb

Our Client, a restaurant chain, is expanding across South Africa and seeking a hands-on Group Executive Chef. In this role, you will oversee menu development, manage the central kitchen, lead all baking across the group, ensure food consistency across all company-owned and franchise stores, and lead kitchen teams from a central kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Food & Menus: Lead menu creation, food costing, and event catering.
• Quality Control: Set central kitchen baking schedules to minimize waste and ensure consistent food quality.
• Team Leadership: Train kitchen staff on techniques, hygiene, and portion control across all locations.
• Operations: Visit stores weekly, manage kitchen discipline, and coordinate with store managers and head office.
• Supply Chain: Source quality ingredients, manage supplier relationships, and oversee kitchen equipment needs.

Requirements

• Experience: Background as an Executive/Head Chef or leading multi-site kitchens either in hotels or franchised restaurants.
• Skills: Strong menu development, food costing, financial margin management, and exceptional pastry/baking knowledge.
• Leadership: Proven ability to train teams, set high standards, and maintain accountability.
• Logistics: Valid driver’s license, reliable transport, and willingness to travel outside Johannesburg.

• Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
