Role Overview

The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent preparation and delivery of high-quality meals. This role requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to manage kitchen staff, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to menu development.

Key Responsibilities·        Kitchen Operations Management·        Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and consistency.·        Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to established standards.·        Prepare, cook, and present dishes in line with menu specifications.·        Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure excellence.·        Implement and enforce food safety and hygiene regulations.·        Supervise and guide kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork.·        Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to junior staff.·        Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure smooth kitchen operations.·        Contribute to menu creation, innovation, and seasonal updates.·        Standardise recipes and ensure consistency in food preparation.·        Manage stock levels and oversee ordering of supplies.·        Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.·        Control food costs, minimise waste, and maintain budget targets, Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Required Skills and Competencies·        Strong culinary expertise and knowledge of cooking techniques·        Excellent time management and organisational abilities·        High attention to detail and quality standards·        Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment·        Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent experience
