HEAD CHEF – SOUTHERN SUBURBS, CAPE TOWN

Salary: R35,000 – R40,000 per month

The Role

We are recruiting an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of an upmarket casual dining restaurant in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall kitchen operation, ensuring consistently high food quality, presentation and service standards while leading and developing the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the kitchen team.

Maintain consistently high food quality and presentation standards.

Develop and implement menus.

Oversee daily food preparation and service.

Manage kitchen operations and workflow.

Control food costs, stock and wastage.

Maintain food safety, hygiene and compliance standards.

Train, mentor and develop kitchen staff.

Work closely with restaurant management to ensure smooth service and operational performance.

Maintain consistency and quality during busy service periods.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.

Strong kitchen leadership and team-management skills.

Experience in an upmarket / quality-driven restaurant environment.

Strong understanding of food costing, stock control and kitchen operations.

Ability to work effectively under pressure.

High standards of consistency, food quality and presentation.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Salary: R35,000 – R40,000 per month
