Salary: R18,000 – R20,000 per month
A well-established 4-star hotel in Johannesburg South is seeking an experienced Junior Restaurant Manager to join its busy Food & Beverage team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional with proven hotel restaurant experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of daily restaurant operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Description:
- Assist with the day-to-day management of a high-volume hotel restaurant
- Lead, motivate and develop the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest service
- Ensure smooth breakfast, lunch and dinner service
- Supervise opening and closing procedures
- Manage staff scheduling, performance and ongoing training
- Handle guest enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and presentation
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and inventory control
- Assist with food and beverage cost control and profitability
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and company standards
- Support restaurant promotions, functions and special events
- Complete daily administration, cash-ups and operational reporting accurately
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a Restaurant Supervisor or Junior Restaurant Manager role within a 4 or 5-star hotel
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent guest relations and communication skills
- Experience managing busy restaurant operations
- Sound knowledge of food and beverage service standards
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities
- Experience with stock control, cash handling and cost management
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Professional appearance and a positive, hands-on attitude
