About the Opportunity

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join a luxury safari lodge in Limpopo. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pastry professional with a passion for creating exceptional baked goods, desserts and breads while maintaining the high standards expected within a luxury safari environment.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior pastry role, preferably within a luxury lodge, hotel or similar high-end hospitality environment.
• Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry will be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of pastry, baking, bread-making and advanced decorating techniques.
• Proven ability to prepare high-quality pastries, cakes, breads and desserts consistently.
• Creative approach to menu development with the ability to introduce new flavours, recipes and techniques.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements, including gluten-free and vegan options.
• Experience with stock control, ordering, portion control and reducing food wastage.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and correct ingredient storage procedures.
• Ability to maintain consistency in taste, texture, presentation and overall product quality.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
• Experience training and mentoring junior pastry team members.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with the wider kitchen team.
• Passionate, creative and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to exceptional culinary standards.

Package

• Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.
• Live-In position.
