Overview

A Big Five lodge in the Eastern Cape is seeking a technically skilled Workshop Manager to oversee the vehicle workshop and fleet. This role requires a hands‑on individual with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage a small team. Essential Requirements

Experience working on diesel engines

Experience working on Toyota vehicles

Highly organised and meticulous with tools, stock, and record‑keeping

Excellent communication skills

Desired Requirements

Experience in a lodge or game reserve workshop environment

Experience with heavy machinery (e.g., tractors)

Experience managing a fleet of vehicles

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all workshop operations and workflow

Manage the lodge’s fleet of game viewers and transport vehicles

Ensure weekly vehicle checks are completed and recorded accurately

Proactively address all vehicle maintenance issues

Assist with vehicle recoveries on the reserve and access roads

Manage procurement of vehicle parts and repairs

Maintain accurate stock records for vehicle parts

Lead and supervise a small workshop team

Work closely with lodge management to ensure optimal vehicle performance

Additional Responsibilities

Assist with town trips when required

Support lodge and reserve teams with general workshop and maintenance tasks
